Jimmy Carter: Criticism Of Obama Is Racist

Well, look who is the latest to cry racism. None other than former failed President, Jimmy Carter. Not only is it outrageous enough that Carter makes these baseless accusations, but biased NBC anchor Brian Williams can’t help himself either; framing the recent protests in the worst possible light. Here’s the video.

Ironically enough, Carter himself has been accused of being an anti-Semite. While no one can be sure what is in the hearts and minds of any man, let’s take a look at just one of Carter’s ACTIONS. Carter himself actually accepted money from a known anti-Semite. This is what Alan DershowitzAlan Dershowitz of all people – had to say about Carter:

Recent disclosures of Carter’s extensive financial connections to Arab oil money, particularly from Saudi Arabia, had deeply shaken my belief in his integrity. When I was first told that he received a monetary reward in the name of Shiekh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahayan, and kept the money, even after Harvard returned money from the same source because of its anti-Semitic history, I simply did not believe it. How could a man of such apparent integrity enrich himself with dirty money from so dirty a source?

And let there be no mistake about how dirty the Zayed Foundation is. I know because I was involved, in a small way, in helping to persuade Harvard University to return more than $2 million that the financially strapped Divinity School received from this source. Initially, I was reluctant to put pressure on Harvard to turn back money for the Divinity School, but then a student at the Divinity School, Rachael Lea Fish showed me the facts.

They were staggering. I was amazed that in the twenty-first century there were still foundations that espoused these views. The Zayed Centre for Coordination and Follow-up, a think-tank funded by the Shiekh and run by his son, hosted speakers who called Jews “the enemies of all nations,” attributed the assassination of John Kennedy to Israel and the Mossad and the 9/11 attacks to the United States’ own military, and stated that the Holocaust was a “fable.” (They also hosted a speech by Jimmy Carter.) To its credit, Harvard turned the money back. To his discredit, Carter did not.

Jimmy Carter was, of course, aware of Harvard’s decision, since it was highly publicized. Yet he kept the money. Indeed, this is what he said in accepting the funds: “This award has special significance for me because it is named for my personal friend, Sheik Zayed bin Sultan al-Nahyan.” Carter’s personal friend, it turns out, was an unredeemable anti-Semite and all-around bigot.

In reading Carter’s statements, I was reminded of the bad old Harvard of the nineteen thirties, which continued to honor Nazi academics after the anti-Semitic policies of Hitler’s government became clear. Harvard of the nineteen thirties was complicit in evil. I sadly concluded that Jimmy Carter of the twenty-first century has become complicit in evil.

Again, I point this out not to accuse Carter of anti-Semitism – but outright hypocrisy on issues of racism. He is no position to accuse anyone of racism given his actions.

Moreover, one of the most comical things about Carter’s charges is that the current leader of the Republican Party is BLACK! His name is Michael Steele! If Republicans are generally racist, how in heck did he win the election to be the party’s chairman, I ask?!

Leftist accusations of racism are growing tiresome. Carter is just the latest to fall back on Page 1 of the Democratic playbook. Maureen Dowd (and Carter for that matter) accused Joe Wilson of being racist for his outburst at Obama’s speech last week. Mike Lupica accused Mark Levin of being a racist simply for opposing Obam policies. The list goes on.

Our country has come a long way on race. Certainly some racism still exists and it probably always will. But when the charge of racism is used at every turn, when every criticism of Obama is contrued as racist, then the problem lies with those making the accusation. The Carter’s and Dowd’s of the world are the ones fanning the flames of race. They are the ones who don’t want the issue to disappear because they realize that it is an issue they can use as a wedge to further their political and ideoligical agendas.

It is, my friends, utterly despicable.

More Leftist Race-Baiting

This flyer was distributed outside the town hall meeting for Congressman Moran. Gateway Pundit has the story:

Marooned in Marin, via Free Republic, has more on these flyers that were found on cars outside the South Lakes High School in Reston on Tuesday night.

The cartoon was created by Mike Flugennock who is another another disturbed Far Left political cartoonist. He says he created the flyer to announce “the imminent arrival of the National Teabaggers’ Convention coming to Washington DC on the 12th of September.”

“Teabagger” is, of course, a crude sexual term used to describe those Americans who oppose Barack Obama’s record spending, record deficits, record debt, record unemployment and unprecedented power grab.

Imagine if a right-wing cartoonist depicted anti-war protesters in such a manner, with an effigy of George W. Bush? The left would have went ballistic.

No, instead what we have here is just another example of leftist hypocrisy, immaturity and vulgarity. They can’t deal with the dissent from the right against Obama policies so they have nothing left but to call us racists and use race to further their radical agenda.

Pathetic.

The 47 Million Uninsured Myth

Barack Obama and his Democrat minions would have us believe our health care system is in crisis. While this couldn’t be further from the truth, one of the biggest ’statistics’ they use to make their case is that 47 million Americans are without insurance. But when this number is actually scrutinized, the true number is closer to 10-15 million.

Mark Levin, in his essential book Liberty And Tyranny, explains:

It is said by the proponents of government-run health care that 47 million people go without health care in the United States. For example, during the so-called Cover the Uninsured Week event in 2008, Democrat Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi issued a statement declaring that this is the “time to reaffirm our commitment to access to quality, affordable health care for every American, including the 47 million who live in fear of even a minor illness because they lack health insurance…In the wealthiest nation on earth, it is scandalous that a single working American or a young child must face life without the economic security of health coverage.” This is more deceit.

In 2006, the Census Bureau reported that there were 46.6 million people without health insurance. About 9.5 million were not United States citizens. Another 17 million lived in households with incomes exceeding $50,000 a year and could, presumably, purchase their own health care coverage. Eighteen million of the 46.6 million uninsured were between the ages of eighteen and thirty-four, most of whom were in good health and not necessarily in need of health-care coverage or chose not to purchase it. Moreover, only 30 percent of the nonelderly population who became uninsured in a given year remained uninsured for more than twelve months. Almost 50 percent regained their health coverage within four months. The 47 million “uninsured” figure used by Pelosi and others is widely inaccurate.

Having 10-15 million or so uninsured Americans may well be cause for concern (assuming, of course, they are truly needy), but it is hardly sufficient enough cause to dismantle a system that most Americans are satisfied with and by measure is one of the best (if not the best) in the entire world.

Moreover, the statistics cited by Mr. Levin are hardly inaccessible. Surely, Obama, Pelosi, Reid, et al, must know these truths. As such, it is hard not to question their real motivation vis-a-vis healthcare.

If they truly wanted to reform our system they would focus their energy on helping those without insurance to obtain it, as well as finding ways to enable Americans to insure against catastrophic illness or injury.

Instead, what they are doing is using the issue to scare Americans and take advantage of their benevolent nature in order to grow government, obtain the utmost control our lives, and amass as much power for themselves as possible.

Obama vs. Reagan

On ‘Hannity’ last night, Sean compared the meek response of Obama vis-a-vis Iran to Reagan’s strong and principled stand against communist oppression in Poland. Check out this telling video here. Now if only Mr. Hannity would take my calls!

By the way, here’s what I wrote back in January regarding the Obama approach to Iran:

Herein lays the problem with Obama’s approach toward Iran. One can not engage in diplomacy – which entails negotiation, finding common ground and compromise – when the ‘partner’ at the table is an opponent of the convictions and values your nation stands for. To do so would be pacifism. And as history has taught us pacifying enemies of freedom only leads to more violence, war and tyranny, not less. One can only hope that history isn’t about to repeat itself.

Proven right? Pretty much, I think. Although the one thing that has become more clear to me now is that Obama has also completely ceded our moral authority as the leading promoter of freedom and democracy in the world. With his constant apologizing for America and willingness to cut deals with dictators he’s boxed himself in. He put himself in a position of not being able to support the Iranian protesters for fear that it would damage future negotiations with the evil mullocracy. In essence, his approach legitimized an evil regime.

Well, we can’t say you weren’t warned.

What Did Corzine Know And When Did He Know It?

Remember this infamous Obama/Air Force One photo-op flyover past the city and the Statue of Liberty? The flight scared the bejeezus out of New Yorkers and New Jerseyans who thought a 9/11 replay was taking place before their eyes.

Well, apparently NJ officials knew more about this than they officially let on. This, of course, begs the questions: what did Corzine know and when did he know it? Assemblywoman Angelini wants to know.

ANGELINI: CORZINE NEEDS TO CLEAR THE AIR ON

INAPPROPRIATE HANDLING OF AIR FORCE ONE PHOTO OP

E-MAILS REFUTE CORZINE’S CLAIM THAT NEW JERSEY OFFICIALS WEREN’T NOTIFIED

BEFORE NEW YORK CITY FLYOVER THAT CAUSED PANIC

Gov. Jon S. Corzine must explain why he didn’t tell the public that his administration knew that a low-flying passenger jet and F-16 in New York City was merely a photo op, Assemblywoman Mary Pat Angelini said today.

After the April 27 incident, which set off panic among New Jerseyans and New Yorkers scarred by 9/11, the governor disputed accounts from the Federal Aviation Administration that New York and New Jersey officials were notified and pledged to “push forward all the way to the White House” for answers.

But the Newark Star-Ledger reported this weekend that a review of e-mails including, those from Corzine’s Homeland Security director Richard Canas and Scott Kisch – Canas’ chief-of-staff and a close friend of Corzine’s – show New Jersey officials were notified three days before the flyby.

“That is unacceptable leadership,” Angelini, R-Monmouth, said. “I understand that the notification may have contained a wrong-headed order from federal officials to keep information confidential, but that order should have been disregarded before the incident caused panic among those who feared the horrible events of 9/11 were repeating.”

Angelini also questioned whether Corzine himself was notified since his initial claims that no officials were informed have been proven false.

“The governor needs to come clean,” Angelini said. “He let New Jerseyans believe for an entire month a politically-convenient story that New Jersey officials were not notified, passing all blame for this terrible incident on Washington . The federal government does deserve most of the blame, but the public deserves a truthful account from its governor instead of an e-mail with a tangentially-related news story.”

ACORN’s Swelling Rap Sheet

We are witnessing a direct and blatant attack on our democratic process by the so-called community organization group ACORN. Here is just some of what we know so far:

  • “In Washington State, criminal charges were filed last year against seven ACORN workers accused of submitting 1,762 fraudulent voter registrations to the state in 2006. The workers–many of whom had prior convictions– went to the Seattle Public Library and filled out forms “based on names, addresses and telephone numbers taken from the telephone books,” state prosecutor Daniel Satterberg said.” (Source: Court documents reveal ACORN’s troubled history)
  • “On October 6, a criminal investigator with the Nevada Secretary of State filed a search-warrant affidavit stating that ACORN workers used “fictitious and false information” on voter registration applications.” (Source: Court documents reveal ACORN’s troubled history)
  • “There are now two investigations in Nevada into the community advocacy group called ACORN — one by the Secretary of State and the second by the Nevada Department of Corrections. One is looking into possible voter registration fraud and identity theft by ACORN and the other is looking at how inmates were hired to register voters.” (Source: ACORN Investigation Grows Deeper)
  • “…investigators in a Cuyahoga County probe of ACORN’s voter registration activities revealed that nearly 4,000 voter registration applications supplied by the activist group were questionable, and that one Ohio man registered to vote several times and cast a bogus ballot using a fake address.” (Source: Five Percent of Cleveland ACORN Voter Registrations are Questionable)
  • Michigan’s attorney general is charging a former employee of a community organizing group with forgery after he says the man falsely submitted six voter registration forms. (Source: Mich. AG Charges Ex-ACORN Worker With Forgery)

These stories about ACORN have all emerged in just the past day or so:

Folks, as funny of some of this sounds, it isn’t funny at all. This is an attack on one of our fundamental rights as citizens – the right to vote. It undermines our political process to have a lawless group running around, thumbing their nose at the system and essentially trying to steal elections.

And I’d be remiss if I didn’t mention that Barack Obama has direct ties to this outfit. For more on that, check out Stanley Kurtz’ article at National Review from this past May.
