Look Who’s Coming To Town

Obama and Corzine greet crowd

TRENTON — President Barack Obama will stump for Gov. Jon Corzine at Fairleigh Dickinson University next Wednesday, the governor’s campaign announced today.

The rally will be held at Rothman Center on the school’s campus.

Not sure yet what time the rally is to be held but I will be looking for it. Sounds like a good time to protest if you ask me.

GSP’s One Year Anniversary!!

It’s hard to believe, but it’s been one year since giving birth to this blog. A lot has changed in the span of that one year, both for me personally and for the nation. The campaign of 2008 seems like ages ago. Obama’s Presidency already seems like it’s been 4 years long. While I am gravely concerned about the direction our nation going these days, I will try to remain upbeat as well.

Over the past year I have met a lot of like-minded people who love their country. I have met them at Republican Party meetings, seminars, tea party protests and town hall meetings. These are the people that give me faith that conservative ideas will prevail.

For now, I will continue to fight the good fight – and I hope you continue to keep reading my posts.

God Bless, America!

Currahee!

This is the story of Lieutenant Brian Brennan – a true American hero – and fellow New Jerseyan. It was brought to my attention by own of my readers and I thought it was worth sharing.

Thanks, ‘Big W’ for passing this along.

Is ‘Bill’ Coming Due?

For years we’ve been hearing that NYC is due for a hurricane. Could ‘Bill’ be the one? Stay tuned.

Technical Difficulties!

Well, while I was away Blogivists apparently did not want to cooperate! The series of posts I had scheduled hit a roadblock back on July 6th and none of the subsequent ones posted.

But I remain undeterred. My latest installment on rock’s greatest albums continues below with Fleetwood Mac’s Rumours. I will continue to post these in the coming days – hopefully, without any more glitches.

In the meantime it is good to be back home. Europe is a beautiful place, but after a while one longs for America!

Happy 4th Of July!

God Bless America!

Limited Posting The Next Few Weeks

Here’s the good news: GSP will be getting married this weekend!

Here’s the bad news: Posting will be limited for the next few weeks.

I’m hoping to find the time to include some interesting and different content for the time I am away and will alert you if that is forthcoming. So, by all means keep checking in!

New Jersey Under Corzine: Miserable

As if we didn’t know already, now it is quantified even further for us. From Assemblymen Declan O’Scanlon and David W. Wolfe:

O’SCANLON AND WOLFE: TAXPAYER ADVOCACY GROUP QUANTIFIES NEW JERSEY ’S MISERY

NEW JERSEY TAXPAYERS ASSOCIATION’S NEW MISERY INDEX ENUMERATES STATE’S GROWING DEBT, BUDGET, TAX AND UNEMPLOYMENT PAIN

Assemblymen Declan O’Scanlon and David W. Wolfe welcomed, but lamented, a new metric, the Misery Index, unveiled by the New Jersey Taxpayers Association that documents the rapidly growing tax, debt, spending and unemployment burden that is afflicting New Jersey taxpayers.

According to the index – a formula that includes property taxes, state spending, state debt and unemployment rates – New Jersey ’s misery has grown by nearly 25 percent since 2005, the year before Governor Corzine took office, while nearly doubling since 2001 – the year before Democrats took control of state government.

“This new tool confirms an unfortunate truth: New Jersey taxpayers have suffered under Governor Corzine’s failed leadership,” O’Scanlon, R-Monmouth and Mercer, said. “Instead of considering our proposals to reduce the size of state government and stop spending money we do not have, Corzine and his Democratic allies in the Legislature have taxed, spent and borrowed at breakneck speed without consideration for New Jersey ’s middle class taxpayers.”

O’Scanlon and Wolfe, members of the Assembly Budget Committee, expressed concern about next year’s figures as unemployment, property taxes and borrowing have shown no signs of abating in 2009.

“Governor Corzine has not only inflicted misery on taxpayers by continuing to tax, borrow and spend excessively, he has been tone-deaf to taxpayers’ plight taking away property-tax relief when the middle class needs it the most,” Wolfe, R-Ocean and Monmouth, said. “I commend the New Jersey Taxpayers Association for crafting a new tool to measure the state’s costly misery. I only wish the harsh truth it reflects were more kind.”

Assemblyman Green Apparently Only Likes Positive Feedback

Recently, I came across a blog site for Assemblyman Jerry Green of the 22nd District. As with all blogs, his allows comments to his posts. So, when I came across the Assemblyman’s site I reacted to a post he had touting his ‘accomplishments.’

Well, apparently Mr. Green didn’t take too well of my criticism of his accomplishments merely being an ability to spend other people’s money too well! My comment never saw the light of day. Nor did my follow-up comment calling him out for not posting my original comment.

If you check out his blog post, there is only one positive comment from an Anonymous poster.

So, Assemblyman Green apparently is quite thin-skinned and doesn’t want his constituents to see him actually have to defend himself.

Hey, Assemblyman…you know what? If you can’t take a little heat from little old me then you have no business being a legislator.
