Steve Lonegan On Wasted Green Acres Funds

Steve Lonegan took a little trip to North Bergen to show us where our Green Acres funding has been spent. The video says it all.

North Bergen is DEVOID of open space. 30 teams practice per week on the field he’s standing on — it would be total MUD without artificial turf, churned to death, and kids of all ages couldn’t exercise and get healthy; they’d be dropping off teams, getting fat and costing us way more in healthcare costs than they do already. Green Acres’ first stated, legal purpose is RECREATION for better communities and healthier people .. THEN natural lands. And it does both in spades.

I’ve heard you on all 3 of my blogs now. And the answer remains the same. This is not what the open space funds are for. If North bergen wants these things, the taxpayers of that city should pay for it.
