Carrie Prejean Sues ‘Miss California USA’

Former Miss USA Carrie Prejean is seeking justice after being stripped of her crown. While ‘Miss California USA’ claimed she was in breach of her contract, Prejean’s suit contends that she was dropped because of her politically incorrect comments regarding gay marriage.

Here’s the story:

RANCHO SANTA FE, CA – Carrie Prejean’s attorney, Charles S. LiMandri announced today that the former Miss California USA is filing a complaint in the Superior Court of California against Miss California USA officials Keith Lewis and Shanna Moakler, and publicist Roger Neal.  The complaint cites damages to Miss Prejean including libel, public disclosure of private facts, religious discrimination, intentional infliction of emotional distress, and negligent infliction of emotional distress.

Miss Prejean was fired from her role as Miss California USA in June of this year, following several months of controversy over her answer at the Miss USA pageant regarding same-sex marriage. Lewis claimed Miss Prejean’s termination was due to a violation of contract.  Miss Prejean’s complaint will refute that allegation, and demonstrate that both the chronology and factual evidence clearly show she lived up to all her contractual obligations, but was fired, harassed and publicly attacked solely due to her religious beliefs.

Charles S. LiMandri, attorney for Miss Prejean, released the following statement regarding the complaint:
“Over the past two months we have worked hard to provide overwhelming evidence that Carrie Prejean did not violate her contract with Miss California USA and did not deserve to have her title revoked by Keith Lewis.  We will make the case that her title was taken from her solely because of her support of traditional marriage. Keith Lewis has refused to clear her good name or even to admit any wrongdoing.  Therefore, Carrie Prejean is left with no alternative but to take her case to court where she expects to be fully vindicated.”

Here again is that famous moment when the detestable little worm Perez Hilton sandbagged her:

We’ll be following this one and hope the truth comes out. If my instincts are right, I think Miss Prejean will indeed be vindicated.

“…Chris Christie Isn’t Out There Running As The Republican Candidate.”

Richard LaRossa has a rather scathing piece today on the Christie campaign’s strategy – or lack thereof. LaRossa chides Christie’s ‘run out the clock’ approach to the campaign saying:

Even Christie supporters like Alan Steinberg, Carl Golden, and Jeff Michaels have taken the time to add their voices to the growing chorus of concern – in writing. As a strategy, maybe we should call it the gambit of the non-campaign.  It goes like this: You get a dream candidate with a built-in lead and you sit on it until Election Day.  If the lead is big enough and things go your way, you’ll have some of it left on Election Day. This strategy was famously pursued by the presidential campaign of Mayor Rudy Giuliani, a campaign run by some of the same arrogant people who now run the Christie campaign.  America’s mayor was up by more than 20 points and saw his lead erode to where he was fighting for fifth place.  These people were so sure of a victory they had the New Jersey Republican State Committee change its rules in short order to adopt a winner-take-all delegate rule for the benefit of Giuliani.

But the most shocking part of LaRossa’s article comes in a discussion about the party’s opposition to adopting the RNC platform, as well as a common sense 10-point plan called ‘The Contract with New Jersey.’

Last week, three candidates and one conservative activist went to see Chairman Jay Webber about this proposed Contract with New Jersey. Also attending was a close confidante of Assemblyman Webber.  Webber expressed shock that the candidates hadn’t followed the “proper procedures”. This is the same bogus argument he is using to avoid voting on accepting the RNC Platform.

This begs the question as to which “procedures” were in place in 2003, when Webber challenged an incumbent Republican Senator, or in 2007, when he jumped line to capture his Assembly seat.  As I have heard in the past, where you stand depends on where you sit.

Then this gem…

According to multiple sources familiar with the meeting, an exasperated Webber blurted out: “This doesn’t help Chris Christie because Chris Christie isn’t out there running as the Republican candidate.”  Wow.  Let me repeat that!   According to multiple sources familiar with the meeting, an exasperated Webber blurted out: “This doesn’t help Chris Christie because Chris Christie isn’t out there running as the Republican candidate.”  Wow, indeed!  Ok, then what is he running as?

So, there you have it folks. Straight from the guy who is leading the NJ GOP – our nominee isn’t running as a Republican. And yet we conservatives are supposed to ‘get on board’ and blindly support whoever they tell us to.

All I can say to that is, ‘ain’t happenin.’ Unbelievable!

Currahee!

This is the story of Lieutenant Brian Brennan – a true American hero – and fellow New Jerseyan. It was brought to my attention by own of my readers and I thought it was worth sharing.

Thanks, ‘Big W’ for passing this along.

Reader Poll

OK, this is my first shot at doing a poll on GSP so I’ve started with something simple. Let me know how often you read my blog. Thanks!

More Leftist Race-Baiting

This flyer was distributed outside the town hall meeting for Congressman Moran. Gateway Pundit has the story:

Marooned in Marin, via Free Republic, has more on these flyers that were found on cars outside the South Lakes High School in Reston on Tuesday night.

The cartoon was created by Mike Flugennock who is another another disturbed Far Left political cartoonist. He says he created the flyer to announce “the imminent arrival of the National Teabaggers’ Convention coming to Washington DC on the 12th of September.”

“Teabagger” is, of course, a crude sexual term used to describe those Americans who oppose Barack Obama’s record spending, record deficits, record debt, record unemployment and unprecedented power grab.

Imagine if a right-wing cartoonist depicted anti-war protesters in such a manner, with an effigy of George W. Bush? The left would have went ballistic.

No, instead what we have here is just another example of leftist hypocrisy, immaturity and vulgarity. They can’t deal with the dissent from the right against Obama policies so they have nothing left but to call us racists and use race to further their radical agenda.

Pathetic.

Media Corruption

First, ABC allowed Obama air time to spew his healthcare propaganda unchallenged. Now they refuse to run this anti-Obamacare ad. NBC also refuses. And we wonder why the silent majority is no longer silent?

Jay Webber On Victory 2009 Campaign

Republican State Chair Jay Webber held a conference call this morning to discuss the Victory 2009 campaign.

The Assemblyman was clearly confident about the prospects for both the Christie campaign and Republicans this year. He said that New Jerseyans are ‘hungry for change’ and that Republicans were poised to ‘capitalize on unprecedented energy and enthusiasm’ within the Republican ranks.

Volunteer efforts have been strong. Roughly 3700 volunteers have put in over 3000 hours, tallying some 150,000 voter contacts. The Assemblyman pointed to a mid-August ‘Super Saturday’ event as further evidence of the energy on the Republican side this year. Taking time out on a summer Saturday in August, over 33,000 voter contacts were made by campaign volunteers.

Assemblyman Webber was also pleased by the recent Rasmussen polling which shows Christie maintaining a double digit lead – 47%-36%. When I asked the Assemblyman if he saw any evidence of independent candidate Chris Daggett taking votes away from either top candidate, he said he did not know and that the Christie campaign ‘can’t control it.’

Notably, the Rasmussen poll does not mention Daggett, but includes an option for ’some other candidate.’

2009 New Jersey Governor Race
Chris Christie (R) 47%
Jon Corzine (D) 36%
Some Other Candidate 7%
Not Sure 11%

The Assemblyman was also asked if the recent Christie scandals have harmed the campaign. In response, he referred to these matters ‘as a series of distractions that haven’t changed the fundamentals of the campaign.’ He returned to the theme that ‘Corzine has failed us’ and said that Mr. Christie was the candidate of hope with a better, more fiscally responsible vision for the state.

I also queried the Chairman on the prospects of the Republicans winning the Assembly. He said he was much more upbeat about winning the Assembly than he was several months back. To capture the Assembly, Republicans would need a 9 seat gain. Assemblyman Webber described such a pick-up as an ‘ambitious’ goal but could see a ‘real possibility of a Speaker DeCroce in November.’ He noted recent scandals as being a factor, and that the 4th and 19th districts were now very much in play.

In closing, Assemblyman Webber said that Assembly Republicans would be ‘on offense this year’ and he pledged that Republicans will continue to ‘campaign hard’ up until Election Day.

The Widening Economic Gap Between…?

Liberals love to talk about widening economic gaps, such as ‘rich vs. poor’ or ‘men vs. women.’ Well, there is a real widening economic gap out there. It’s just not one that liberals would like you to know about. It’s the gap between private sector workers and public sector workers.

Check out these 2 graphs from Cato. If this doesn’t sicken you, I don’t know what will.

A $30,000 gap in wages and a $60,000 gap in wages+benefits. And these workers no doubt retire much earlier than the rest of us private sector saps.

Did I say ’sickening?’ If I didn’t quite say it, I am saying it now.

‘Dean’ Of Lies

In a TV interview the other night, Howard ‘arrgggghhh’ Dean claimed that Republicans were undermining the President and, quote, ‘you have to undermine the country to undermine the President.’

So, according to Dean opposing The Great Obama on healthcare now means you are un-American.

Well, you would think that the same media that had hissy fits when Rush Limbaugh said he wanted Obama’s policies to fail would have jumped all over this. Nay, it was left to FNC to confront the DNC Chair on his little remark. Watch here as Griff Jenkins, appearing on Hannity, asks Dean to ‘clarify’ his comment (start at the 1:25 mark).

Ironically enough, Hannity also caught Dean in another lie tonight. Dean claimed that the British government-run healthcare system was started by Churchill. Not so. It began in 1948 under Churchill’s successor Clement Attlee of the Labour Party.

So, clearly Mr. Dean is not having a good week. Being exposed by FNC and Sean Hannity must really get under his skin. My advice? I think a cathartic little scream would help him relieve the stress.

¿Alcahueteando Para Votos?

This is one of the latest internet videos released by the Christie campaign. Honestly, I wasn’t sure what to make of this when I first saw it. If Christie is appealing to Hispanics in New Jersey, so be it. However, anytime a politician starts using Spanish in their campaign it makes me uneasy and smacks of pandering for votes.

Watch here and decide for yourself.
