Why Is Sean Hannity A Coward?

June 3rd, 2009 by Garden State Patriot and tagged Chris Christie, Hannity, Hannity Is A Coward, New Jersey Primary, Sean Hannity, Steve Lonegan

Tried to call in to Sean Hannity’s show today to ask him why he had Christie on and not Lonegan. Here’s how it went:

Call Screener: Hello, Sean Hannity Show

Me: Yes, I just heard Sean say that he doesn’t like being lied to. Then why did he lie to the conservative voters of New Jersey?

Call Screener: (chuckle) You must be a Lonegan supporter. Click.

So, Sean Hannity’s call screener is clearly under orders to not accept any calls about the primary in New Jersey; one in which he clearly stuck his nose into it and sided with the moderate Chris Christie by having him on his program multiple times (radio and TV) while not even inviting the conservative Steve Lonegan.

Way to go Sean. You are now officially a coward.

Same thing happened to me. It’s bad enough Hannity practically endorsed Christie (even though he claims not to take sides in primaries) and absolutely refused to give Lonegan any time, but that he is so gutless that he is afraid to take our calls and defend his action is a disgrace.

I’ve listened to Hannity for the last time because I’ll puke if I hear someone call him a “great American.” Hannity is a complete gutless fraud. He is an embarrassment to conservatives.

Tom, I am very disappointed in Hannity. Perhaps I was naive in thinking he is who he says he is, but I think in this case he was siding with his buddy Giuliani more than anything.

The good thing about this day and age is he can’t hide under his desk. I wrote this blog post for a reason – if he doesn’t want to take a phone call and simply explain himself then I will try to get the word out. I also twittered this post and, believe me, that gets out to a lot of people and it can spread.

Perhaps my criticism is a little over the top, but then again, maybe not. There is little I hate more than hypocrisy. I remember after the Obama election Hannity urged conservatives to get involved and support conservative candidates. Well I did get involved. I spent literally several hundred hours (not to mention the money I donated) working for the Lonegan campaign sacrificing time with my wife and two young children in the hope that I could play a small part in helping to pull off an upset and secure Steve Lonegan the nomination.

I truly believe that Hannity’s actions negated not only my hundreds of hours, but also the tens of thousands of hours fellow volunteers gave to Lonegan. In my book Hannity spit on our time and the sacrifices we made to give Lonegan our time. I don’t know who would have won had Hannity given both Christie and Lonegan equal time, but I am convinced it would have been a much closer race.

Hannity has to understand the effect of his actions. He is not just another private citizen with an opinion. I agree with you that his motive was probably his personal friendship with Giuliani, but this does not excuse his actions in my book. Again, the bottom line for me is that I think Hannity stole my time with my family and that’s why this issue is so personal to me. Hannity puts himself above conservatism, he views himself as more important than the cause he claims to champion. This is the height of arrogance and vanity.

The final insult is the way his smug staff treat us like a bunch of kooks and dismiss us with a chuckle and hang up. They don’t even have the decency to hang up politely. I treat telemarketers better than I was treated by his staff.

Lastly, I voted for Whitman in the general election and regret that vote to this day. I will not make the same mistake with Christie. I will not drink the “lesser-evil” kool-aid the NJ Republican establishment tries to poor down conservative voters’ throats every election.

I had the same issue. I had called 1 day when Sean had Christie on and asked the screener to have Sean ask tough questions. I said he should ask Christie to comment on his alleged ‘Pay For Play’ scandals. I was hung up on. If that had been Rod Blago or some other Dem who had been accused of ‘Pay to Play’ you know Sean would have went right at it. I also told the screener that they should have Lonegan on, you know, to be fair and balanced. I was told Lonegan did not request to be on and was hung up on.

I think Sean showed his support for Christie by having him on both his radio & TV shows more than once or twice.

BTW- I have made comments on the great american blog, nothing rude or vulgar and they have been deleted. Is that free speech?

Sean had no idea who Lonegan was if he did he would have had him on. Lonegan was the only Conservative in that race.

You know, it’s bad enough that he’s a hypocrite on this issue but ut’s another thing altogether to spit in the face of his loyal fans and listeners when they call in to simply ask him a question about why he did it.

    Truly disappointing.

[...] On ‘Hannity’ last night, Sean compared the meek response of Obama vis-aavis Iran to Reagan’s strong and principled stand against communist oppression in Poland. Check out this telling video here. Now if only Mr. Hannity would take my calls! [...]
