Senator Menendez’ Heavy Lifting In The Senate
Did you know that April 30th was commemorated as ‘Dia del los Ninos’ in the United States? Indeed it was. And we can thank our lightweight junior Senator Robert menendez for this landmark legislation. Passing the Senate via unanimous consent – meaning other Senators gave it the ‘yeah, whatever’ approval – Menendez was the primary sponsor of this resolution…
Resolved, That the Senate–
(2) calls on the people of the United States to join with all children, families, organizations, communities, churches, cities, and States across the Nation to observe the day with appropriate ceremonies, including activities that–
(A) center around children, and are free or minimal in cost so as to encourage and facilitate the participation of all our people;
(C) provide opportunities for children of all backgrounds to learn about one another’s cultures and to share ideas;
(D) include all members of the family, especially extended and elderly family members, so as to promote greater communication among the generations within a family, enabling children to appreciate and benefit from the experiences and wisdom of their elderly family members;
Aww, isn’t that nice? You see if it weren’t for resolutions like this children wouldn’t engage in activities with other kids, talk to their grandparents and learn from others. For this, we have Senator Menendez to thank.
Of course, for bankrupting this next generation of children by voting for the Porkulous Bill we also have Senator Menendez to thank.
Funny or just pathetic? I’ll let you decide.
