Tea Party Mania!! Cont’d
Here are pics from the Hackensack, NJ Tea Party. The turnout at at the Hackensack Courthouse was very good - at least 300 people I would say. Numerous people stepped up and addressed the crowd – a gentlemen named Tim led the charge, while others also rose up to speak their mind. Some of them were from places like Cuba and the USSR and they conveyed their stories of the evils of socialism and communism.
Again, the folks who took time out of their busy lives to attend these rallies are patriots who are extremely concerned about the path this nation is taking under Obama and liberal Democrats. They are done being silent while their freedoms are gradually being taken away by an ever-encroaching government. And they are prepared to continue this fight in the days ahead.

The rally was great. While the theme was pretty consistent there were of course some different points of view. Some people seemed to think it was just a matter of voting out Democrats – but in my opinion both major parties are to blame and we may need a real third alternative to get where we want to go. Also, big government spending on domestic programs is only half (or perhaps a bit more) of the problem. We spend $1.5 trillion dollars on defense. Much of that goes to defend Europe and Japan – you know those poor backward nations that can’t afford to do it themselves. Is this 2009 or 1949? We have spend tens of billions (at least) on an unnecessary (and probably unconsitutional war) in Iraq. Nobody is talking about a weak defense – we need a much stronger and larger Coast Guard, we need a real missile defense system (based on our soil, not in Poland or whatever). Don’t forget who spoke about the dangers of the military/industrial complex – it was that left wing radical Dwight David Eisenhower.

Hey, Tim. You did a great job yesterday. You should think about blogging yourself.

Guy, Steve Lonegan likes to say that there is only one party now – the party of the big spenders. So, I agree that Republicans have contributed to our problems but I think the answer is conservatives taking back their party from moderates and RINOS.

GSP, you’re absolutely right. It’s too bad it was raining and that more Bergen County residents didn’t show up. You’re the most populated county in the state (believe it or not). But still, you Bergen County folks were out there – in the rain. It was a great tea party! Don’t depend on the media to spread your message. Everybody has to be like Paul Revere and spread the word. BTW, did you know Paul Revere participated in the Boston Tea Party? And afterwards, he was dispatched to spread the word to New York and Philadelphia.
