Ferriero D-Day: January 15th
Bergen Democrats have given BCDO Chairman Joe Ferriero – affectionately known here as “Goomba” Joe – until next January 15th to clear himself or resign.
Congressman Steve Rothman attempted to have Ferriero booted in yesterday’s meeting, but showed he didn’t have the muscle — only garnering 3 votes in favor of his motion. (As an aside I find it interesting that Steve-O would push to oust Ferriero, considering he didn’t even vote to impeach Bill Clinton. Maybe that’s me but it seems a little hypocritical.)
However, there may be a little problemo in all this.
Several Democratic officials said that it is unclear how the motion will be enforced. McGuire said that the party will begin to discuss updating its bylaws as a result.
So, one wonders if Ferriero will actually abide by the “request” of his fellow henchmen, err, Democrats.
